HD TRUCKS & EQUIP LLC’s story began in Apache Junction, Az in May of 2015
Originally, the goal was to offer pre-owned, reliable, medium and heavy duty trucks and light construction equipment for sale. We began with 5 trucks, a fork lift and 2 older manlifts in a small 5,000 sq ft building on a side street.
Within a year, we had outgrown the facility with 15 trucks and a few more construction items. We moved to an acre lot with 2 buildings totaling 8,000 sq ft of indoor space on Main St (Apache Trail). Our inventory increased to an average of 20 trucks and 3 to 5 construction items. In 2017 a client asked if I would sell my Cobra Roadster Replica. I declined, however, his interest and ability to purchase a classic car caught our attention. Adding this line to our dealership provided an opportunity to locate and provide some very cool cars to our clients.
In the fall of 2020, the opportunity to purchase an 18,000 sq ft facility in Henderson Tennessee presented itself. Our limited parking space in Apache Junction prohibited our ability to expand our inventory. With 4 acres of space at our new location, we were able to offer over 40 trucks at any given time to our clients from all over the country. We expanded our construction equipment to include backhoes, skid steers, telehandlers and other types of equipment. We averaged a dozen or more classic cars in stock at any given time.
They say to do what you enjoy and you will never have to work a day in your life. This has certainly been our case. Others our age have retired years ago. But it is very hard to let go of what you enjoy. We do, however, feel that this is the time for us to begin the wind down to retirement. There are places to go and things to do.
Our son, Jordan, has been instrumental in our business ventures. Most of you met and worked with him. We could never had done this without him. We will be forever grateful.
And of course, we would never had been able to accomplish the things we did
without our loyal customers.
